Star Wars Reads Day at the Main Library

Star Wars Reads Day at the Main Library
Saturday, October 5 from 12-4 p.m.

Stormtroopers, Tusken Raiders and R2D2 are invading the library for an afternoon of Star Wars-related fun for the entire family. To kick off this year’s One Book Charleston County,
the day will be filled with activities based on these classic books and movies. Meet and bring
a camera to have your photo taken with characters from the Star Wars universe, participate
in a costume contest, watch a movie, create a craft, test your trivia knowledge and enjoy theme-related treats. Members of the Carolina Garrison chapter of the 501st Legion, a volunteer international Star Wars costuming organization, will be dressed in lifelike gear.

Check out the schedule of Star Wars Reads Day activities:

12:30 p.m. – Dress up as your favorite Star Wars character for a costume contest and parade. Prizes in three age categories (ages 11 and younger, 12-18 and over 18) will be awarded. Participants will meet on the first floor.

2 p.m. – Enjoy a Clones and Droids hunt, Stormtrooper bowling, Nerfherding and more
in the Children’s Room.

3 p.m. – Watch the animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars in the Teen Lounge.
