CCPL hosts eclipse events



Charleston County Public Library will provide numerous opportunities in August for residents of all age
s to learn about the upcoming solar eclipse and pick up a pair of free safety glasses. A total eclipse of the sun will be visible Aug. 21 in the Continental United States for the first time in almost 40 years. Eclipse-themed events at CCPL branches along with information on how to pick up free glasses are listed below. 

One pair of glasses will be distributed per household member while supplies last.

Total Solar Eclipse Prequel
Thursday, August 3 at 3:30 p.m.

Cooper River Memorial Library
A speaker from College of Charleston Astronomy Outreach Department and learn what to expect during the total eclipse on August 21. View the sun through a filtered telescope.
