Driving Directions/Map

From Downtown:
Take Hwy. 17S towards Savannah. Just after you cross the Ashley River, take a left onto Folly Road (also called Wesley Dr. at this point). Take a right on Maybank Hwy. Follow Maybank Hwy. into John's Island. The Library will be on the left before you get to Main Road.

From West Ashley:
Take Hwy. 17S towards Savannah. Turn left on Main Road. Follow Main Road into John's Island. Take a left on Maybank Hwy. The Library will be on the right.

From Folly Beach and James Island:
Take Folly Road to Maybank Hwy. Follow Maybank Hwy. into John's Island. The Library will be on the left before you get to Main Road.

From the North area:
Take I-26 East to the I-526 Exit for Savannah. Follow I-526 to the end and make a right onto Hwy. 17S (Savannah Highway). From Hwy. 17, turn left onto Main Road. Follow Main Road into John's Island. Take a left on Maybank Hwy. The Library will be on the right.

From Mt. Pleasant:
Take Hwy. 17S towards Charleston and Savannah. Just after you cross the Ashley River into West Ashley, take a left onto Folly Road (also called Wesley Dr. at this point). Take a right on Maybank Hwy. Follow Maybank Hwy. into John's Island. The Library will be on the left before you get to Main Road.

History

The John’s Island Regional Library was opened October 26, 2004. At 16,000 square feet it is the largest of the five Regional Libraries. The facility provides an auditorium, a smaller conference room and a children’s story hour room. The collections are comprised of nearly 92,000 volumes, DVD’s, videos, books on cassette, books on CD, music on CD. Approximately 40 computers with two in Spanish serve the communities of John’s Island, Kiawah, Seabrook, and Wadmalaw. Circulation in FY2010 was over 311,000 items.
