Faced with heat, humidity and sandy soil, Lowcountry residents have unusual needs when it comes to maintaining a beautiful, lush garden. Richard Dalla Mura, master gardener with Clemson Extension Service, will present "Gardening on a Coastal Plain," at 7 p.m., Wednesday, August 10, at the Charleston County Main Library, 68 Calhoun Street, Charleston. AUGUST 27, 2 p.m.
Growing and cultivating trees and plants into miniature Bonsai specimens is a popular artform that draws all types of gardeners. Ron Martin of the Tokonoma Bonsai Nursery in Summerville will provide a demonstration and presentation about the Bonsai phenomenon at 2 p.m., Saturday, August 27 at the Charleston County Main Library, 68 Calhoun Street, Charleston.
