Before the public sale kicks off, a special catered pre-sale event will be held Thursday, Oct. 11th from 5:30-8 p.m. for Friends of the Library members. Admission for the “Celebrating Friends” event is $20, which provides first choice at the huge sale selection. New members can join at the door. Click here to view the invitation and print the reply card if you'd like to attend.
Admission is free for the three-day public sale with prices starting at 50 cents for paperbacks and $3 for hardcover books. The annual BookFest draws more than 10,000 book lovers from throughout the area.
This year’s sale will be Friday, Oct. 12th from 9 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 13th from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 14th from noon-3 p.m. All items are half price on Sunday!
Shoppers need to bring cash or checks. Credit cards cannot be accepted. Tables are restocked daily to keep the selection fresh. All books were donated and have been sorted and selected for good quality.
Proceeds from the sale benefit the Charleston County Public Library. The annual BookFest is the main fundraiser for the Friends of the Library, a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to assisting the library system by providing volunteers, resources and funding for community programs.
