by the Kiawah Island Photography Club, the film illustrates the story of John's
Island from its beginnings to the present, with narrative, music and imagery
captured by club members. At the conclusion of the film, several club members
discuss the process of documenting the island in photos, producing the film,
creating the companion book and explain the inspiration for this project.

Learn about the services provided by Our Lady of Mercy Community
Outreach. The mission of Our Lady of Mercy Community Outreach is to provide
educational, health, housing and outreach services to people in need on James,
John's and Wadmalaw islands and the Neighborhood House in Charleston, while
encouraging and supporting self-esteem and self-sufficiency.
Painting Display
John's Island resident, Linda Falbo
Williams, has used acrylic and oil paint to illustrate her love of Lowcountry
nature on canvas. Her favorite subjects are marsh landscapes, colorful flowers
and wetland birds. A self-taught artist, Linda recently was accepted into the
Charleston Artist Guild as an exhibiting member.

Grace Smith's art is inspired by fun, meaningful moments revolving around the
moving tides and the freedom that the ocean offers. "Since my childhood, I've
spent my summers at Isle of Palms and have often asked, "Where has the summer
gone? Where has the tide gone?" Catch the tide, embrace the fun and explore meaningful moments in the sun and
shadows through this exhibit.
