LIBRARY ASSISTANT II -
CIRCULATION SERVICES - MT. PLEASANT REGIONAL LIBRARY: Full time position. Perform functions under guidance of the Head of Circulation. Basic knowledge of materials and modern library organization, procedures, policies, aims and services. Performs public service desk duties, routine library functions; specific duties (claims returns, lost and paid, damaged materials, etc.) and general clerical work. Must be computer literate and knowledgeable in various computer software; Microsoft Word, Excel and Publisher a plus. Must have a good understanding of library tasks, ability to get along well with others and to communicate pleasantly and effectively with the general public and library staff. Must be detail oriented and flexible to assume additional responsibilities as needed to maintain branch/departmental operation. Other duties as assigned. Evening and weekend work included. Bilingual - English/Spanish a plus. Must have the stamina for periods of walking, standing, sitting, reaching, bending, kneeling and stooping. May also be required to shelve library materials. Must be able to lift book crates weighing up to approximately fifty (50) pounds and/or push book carts weighing up to approximately one hundred (100) pounds. REQUIUREMENTS: High School graduate with one (1) to two (2)
years of experience in a public library or related experience. High aptitude for library work, significant
understanding of basic aims and services of libraries; initiative;
resourcefulness; good judgment; orderliness, accuracy; tact; adaptability;
ability to get along well with others, ability to communicate pleasantly and
effectively with the general public and library staff. A valid South Carolina driver's license with
a safe driving record. Salary:
$21,944.00 - $26,936.00 annually depending on qualifications. Pay Grade 05NE. Closing

LIBRARY ASSISTANT I -
CIRCULATION SERVICES - {TWO (2) VACANCIES} - (1) MAIN LIBRARY (1) JOHN'S ISLAND
REGIONAL LIBRARY: Full time positions. Perform routine library functions under
professional supervision. Prior library
experience helpful but not necessary.
Basic clerical and general office work.
Must be computer literate in various computer software - Microsoft Word,
Excel, and Publisher a plus. Must be
detail oriented and flexible to assume additional responsibilities as needed to
maintain departmental operations.
Bilingual - English/Spanish a plus.
May also be required to shelve library materials, must be able to lift
book crates weighing up to approximately fifty (50) pounds and/or push book
carts weighing up to approximately one hundred (100) pounds. Must have the stamina for periods of walking,

CIRCULATION SERVICES - MAIN LIBRARY: Part time entry level
position - twenty (20) hours per week.
Perform routine circulation desk duties under professional supervision;
carries out procedures set by supervisory staff; help patrons locate
materials. Basic clerical and general
office work. Must be computer literate
in various computer software - Microsoft Word, Excel and Publisher a plus. Must be flexible to assume additional
responsibilities as needed to maintain departmental operations. Shelving library materials may also be
required. Ability to get along well with
others, ability to communicate effectively and pleasantly with the general

SECURITY OFFICER -
ADMINISTRATION - MAIN LIBRARY: Part time -
afternoons, evenings and weekends - twenty four (24) hours per week. Provide security services at the Main
Library. Must have the stamina for
extensive walking and standing. REQUIREMENTS: High School or GED graduate; Associate's
Degree preferred. Must have at least one
(1) year of experience working in security or customer services. A valid SC driver's license with a safe
driving record - NO CRIMINAL RECORD.
Must be physically and mentally fit.
Ability to get along well with others; ability to communicate pleasantly
and effectively with the general public and library staff. Salary: $9.67 hourly.
Pay Grade 04NE. Closing date: May 31, 2013.
LIBRARY PAGES {THREE (3) VACANCIES} - (1) INFORMATION SERVICES - MAIN LIBRARY; (1) JAMES ISLAND BRANCH; (1) VILLAGE BRANCH: The duties of these positions include but are
not limited to shelving library materials; basic maintenance of the collection
and premises. Other duties as
assigned. Must have the stamina for
periods of walking, standing, reaching, bending, stooping and kneeling. Must be able to lift book crates weighing up
to approximately fifty (50) pounds and/or push book carts weighing up to
approximately one hundred (100) pounds.
Weekend work included. MINIMUM AGE IS SIXTEEN (16) YEARS OLD. Salary:
$7.40 per hour - fifteen (15) hours per week. Closing

LIBRARIAN III/LARGE BRANCH
MANAGER - JOHN L. DART LIBRARY: Full time
position. Management responsibility for
the overall management of a large branch, supervisory responsibilities for
staff. Knowledge of modern principles
and practices of library services and administration; good knowledge of library
materials; participates in collection development. Ability to exercise leadership and motivate
others, to plan and coordinate the work of others, to write concise reports,
analyses community and user needs, material collection and service
effectiveness. Initiate, plan and
coordinate programs within the branch as well as outreach. Must have the ability to train and supervise
staff, possess initiative and tact.
Willingness to participate on system wide committees. Must be flexible to assume additional
responsibilities as needed to maintain branch operation. Must be computer literate with strong
computer skills particularly in using Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability
to learn and use new methods, policies and technological advancements as they
arise. Bilingual - English/Spanish a
plus. Other duties as assigned. Evening and weekend work included. Must have the stamina for periods of walking,
standing, sitting, reaching, bending, stooping and kneeling. REQUIREMENTS: ALA-accredited Master of Library Science
degree with three (3) years post master's professional progressively
more responsible experience in a public library. Must have a creative approach to branch
management. Must be detail oriented. Well developed communication skills and the
ability to communicate effectively and pleasantly with the general public and
library staff. Must be a team
player. Eligible for or hold South
Carolina State Library certification. A
valid South Carolina driver's license with a safe driving record. Salary: $43,638.40 - $53,684.80 annually depending on

libraries. Skilled in the performance of

knowledgeable in various computer software; Microsoft Word, Excel and Publisher
a plus. Bilingual - English/Spanish a
plus. Evening and weekend work included. Other duties as assigned. Must be flexible to assume additional
responsibilities as needed to maintain branch operations. Must possess excellent communication and
interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively and pleasantly with
the general public and library staff.

required. Must be able to lift books, AV
equipment, program materials weighing up to approximately fifty (50)

degree; specialized subject knowledge of skills developed through work
experience where appropriate. Salary:
$36,732.80 - $45,219.20 annually depending on qualifications. Pay Grade 05EX. Closing
