LIBRARIAN IV/REGIONAL BRANCH MANAGER - HURD/ST. ANDREWS REGIONAL:
Full time position. Management responsibility for a Regional Library and oversight of three (3) branches within the geographical cluster to foster cooperation, training, shared programming and staffing. Must work with the Deputy Director, other Regional Branch Managers and Department Heads to help achieve the goals adopted by the Library Board of Trustees in the Strategic Plan. Must be a library advocate devoted to providing excellent customer service to the community. Must have the ability to exercise leadership and be able to motivate others to achieve these goals. Must be able to train and supervise staff and possess the necessary tact to motivate staff to be the best they can be. Ability to write concise reports, analyze community needs, the needs of the collection, the effectiveness of services and be able to communicate those needs to the appropriate departments and supervisors. Must be flexible and able to assume any additional responsibilities to maintain branch operation. Must have extensive knowledge of library principles, trends and administration; knowledge of Children's, Circulation and Reference services. Must be computer literate and knowledgeable in various computer software - Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher a plus. Experience with SIRSI ILS preferred. Bilingual - English/Spanish a plus. Evening and weekend work included. Other duties as assigned. Must have the stamina for periods of standing, sitting, walking, reaching, bending, stooping and kneeling. REQUIREMENTS: ALA accredited Master of Library Science degree and four (4) years POST MLS professional library experience in a public library with two (2) of those years in a supervisory capacity. Eligible for or hold South Carolina State Library certification. A valid South Carolina driver's license with a safe driving record. Hiring Salary Range: $50,065.60 - $56,347.20 annually depending on qualifications. Closing date: Open until position is filled.

P/T LIBRARY ASSISTANT V - SMALL BRANCH MANAGER - FOLLY BEACH: Part time position; twenty (20) hours per week. Responsible for the operation of a small branch library; supervises staff; performs basic library functions under professional supervision. Represents and promotes the library at community events and meetings. Provides and maintains statistical records of the branch. Plans and prepares displays, requests materials for patrons; helps patrons locate materials. May plan and conduct library programs. Handles money and prepares deposits; responsible for maintenance and repair of facility, equipment and grounds. Must be detail oriented, customer focused and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be computer literate and knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite. Must be flexible to assume additional responsibilities as needed to maintain branch operation. Other duties as assigned. Bilingual - English/Spanish a plus. Evening and weekend work included. Must have the stamina for periods of walking, standing, sitting, reaching, bending and stooping. May also be required to shelve library materials; lift book crates weighing up to approximately fifty (50) pounds and/or push book carts weighing up to approximately one hundred (100) pounds. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree; four (4) years of related library experience; high aptitude for library work and customer service, thorough understanding of basic aims and services of libraries; to meet people easily and participate in the activities of the community; strong communication skills to communicate effectively and pleasant with the general public and library staff; enjoys detailed work. A valid South Carolina driver's license with a safe driving record. Hiring Salary Range: $15.88 - $17.87 per hour depending on qualifications - NO INSURANCE BENEFITS. LIBRARY ASSISTANT IV - CIRCULATION SUPERVISOR - MAIN LIBRARY:
Full time position. Assists with overall management of the Circulation Services Department such as supervising circulation support staff, training, scheduling, preparing statistical reports and overseeing workroom operations. Recommends policy and procedural changes to the Main Library Circulation Services Manager. Resolves related policy issues and procedural problems. Interprets and communicates to public and staff regarding policies/procedures. Assists with training in Circulation Services and the Integration Library System (ILS) for system-wide staff, including the material recovery program. Assists with managing the collection floating procedures. Reconciles and prepares cash registers and system-wide deposits. Must be computer literate and knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite. Must be able to troubleshoot and communicate maintenance needs for computers and library equipment. Must be flexible to assume additional responsibilities as needed to maintain department operations. Evening and weekend work included. Other duties as assigned. Bilingual - English/Spanish a plus. Must have the stamina for periods of walking, standing, sitting, reaching, bending, stooping and pushing book carts weighing up to approximately one hundred (100) pounds. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree; three (3) years library or related experience OR two (2) years {sixty (60) credit hours) of college plus five (5) years library or experience in a related area. High aptitude for library service; thorough understanding of basic aims and services of libraries; good judgment; accuracy, tact, flexibility; ability to get along well with others. A valid South Carolina driver's license with a safe driving record. Hiring Salary Range: $29,494.40 - $33,196.80 annually depending on qualifications. Closing date: Open until position is filled.

P/T LIBRARY ASSISTANT I - CHILDREN'S SERVICES - EDGAR ALLAN POE SMALL BRANCH/SULLIVAN'S ISALND: Part time entry level position - thirty (30) hours per week. Performs routine library functions under professional supervision. Serves as the branch representative at children's meetings and assist with such duties as story times, outreach, and summer reading. Knowledge of child development and/or children's literature a plus. Basic clerical and general office work. Prior library experience helpful but not necessary. Must be computer literate and knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite. Must be flexible to assume additional responsibilities as needed to maintain branch operations. This position will require flexibility in scheduling and desk coverage in Circulation Services. Shelving library materials may also be required. Other duties as assigned. Evening and weekend work included. Bilingual - English/Spanish a plus. Must be able to lift book crates weighing up to approximately fifty (50) pounds and/or push book carts weighing up to approximately one hundred (100) pounds. LIBRARY PAGES (THREE {3} VACANCIES) - (1) POPULAR MATERIALS - MAIN; (1) SOUTH CAROLINA ROOM - MAIN; (1) JAMES ISLAND: The duties of these positions include but are not limited to shelving library materials; basic maintenance of the collection and premises. Other duties as assigned. Must have the stamina for periods of walking, standing, reaching, bending, stooping and kneeling. Must be able to lift book crates weighing up to approximately fifty (50) pounds and push book carts weighing up to approximately one hundred (100) pounds. Weekend work included. MINIMUM AGE IS SIXTEEN (16) YEARS OLD. Salary: $7.55 per hour - fifteen (15) hours per week. Closing date: Open until positions are filled.
