      German author Cornelia Funke captured the heart of the U.S. market in 2002 with 'The Thief Lord,' achieving near-celebrity status and sales of some 300,000 copies for the title, her first U.S. launch. Publisher Barry Cunningham, founder of Chicken House, hopes that her new title, 'Inkheart,' will do the same for her in Great Britain market. Inkheart will be published simultaneously in Great Britain, the U.S. and Germany. Inkheart is an adventure story with fantasy, a celebration of the imagination, but a dark one.
