      Stories of the Summer of Love often include recollections of psychedelic rock and messages of social consciousness, rebellion, and drug use. However, the music of this season included a wide range of styles and themes. In many cases, these were extensions of existing traditions. But two significant changes in music can be directly linked to 1967. These affected not only what we heard, but also how we listened to music.
