    • Abstract:
The article focuses on the reassessment of the feminist cultural production in China. The United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women, held in Beijing in 1995, has focused issues on the Chinese feminism, wherein the conference has framed the Chinese state as hostile to capitalist democracy. Accordingly, the Chinese feminists had worked under the radar to pursue new research agendas concerning women, including the deconstruction of Maoist gender discourse and an examination of new problems faced by women with the country's integration into a transnational economy.
