    • Abstract:
The article discusses how one can improve one's writing skills by reading good writing by others. The article shows an extract from novelist Will Hobbs' unpublished manuscript that can be used by amateurs to take hints from for their own autobiographical work. It tells writers to choose a specific memory to write about before starting off and to focus on sensory details. Make notes about how the experience or event looked, sounded, felt and so on. Make a special effort to find strong verbs that will convey images powerfully.
