    • Abstract:
Freud built his seduction theory in 1896. Although he abandoned it one year later, he reported this change some time after. In spite of that, along his psychoanalitic writings he continued returning to what happened in 1896. Thus, he created very different interpretations about his seduction hypothesis. The aim of this paper is to review these interpretations and suggest some explanations for the differences among them. At the end of his doctrine, the father of psychoanalysis stated that the scenes of seduction were always fantasies; on the contrary, in the earlier versions of his interpretations he affirmed either the reality of the facts, or the impossibility of making such discrimination between reality or fantasy.
