Star Wars Reads Day
Monday, September 25, 2017

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Stormtroopers, Tusken Raiders and R2D2 invade the Main Library for an afternoon of Star Wars-related fun for the entire family. Meet and bring a camera to have your photo taken with characters from the Star Wars Universe, participate in a costume contest, watch a movie, create a craft, test your trivia knowledge and enjoy theme-related treats.

Members of the Carolina Garrison chapter of the 501st Legion, a volunteer international Star Wars costuming organization, will be dressed in lifelike gear. Showings of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" and "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" will begin at 2 p.m.

Throughout the day, fans can get their photo taken with members of the 501st Legion, go on a Jawa Scavenger Hunt, make special Star Wars crafts and conduct STEM Wars science experiments. Join the Jedi Reading Academy! Step on board the Millenium Falcon, hit hyperspeed, or battle an AD-AT on Hoth with a special green screen wall.

Fans will also take some target practice on Storm Troopers, visit the Jakku Junkyard, and take a break from the excitement with Yoda Soda and Wookiee Cookiees.
