    • Abstract:
An interview with Alex Dryden, the pseudonym of a British journalist who lived in Russia, is presented. When asked why he used a pseudonym for his novel "Red to Black," he says that there were aspects in the novel that he considered might endanger sources and to a lesser degree himself. He talks about he murder of journalists in Russia since Vladimir Putin became head of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (FSB). Dryden does not think that the novel can take the credit for waking up the West to the increasing threat of Russia.
