      A reprint is presented of the essay "Women, Unite Against Slavery," by Harriet Beecher Stowe, originally published in the January 1863 issue. In it the author, an American abolitionist, responds to an open letter from Great Britain calling for women in the United States to do more to protest against slavery. The author argues that while British women are calling for more advocacy from Americans, the British are supporting the Confederacy and not helping the cause themselves.
