      The article presents the author's reflections on the Biblical teachings in the aspect of prophetic ministry and its high cost. It cites the passage from Mark on the prophetic mission of Jesus after John the Baptist was sent to jail, suffered, persecuted and even be killed. The author relates the prophetic ministry of archbishop Oscar Romero of El Salvador, who urged people to repent as he confronted the oppressive powers while spreading the good news.
