      An interview with author Mary Norris, who was the keynote speaker at American Society of Indexers' 2017 annual conference, is presented. When asked about whether the creation of index cards for "The New Yorker" journal's archives and the digitized archives involved identifying key words, she replied that proper names are deemed as mentions. Other topics include the differences between paper and digital archives and the similarities between her work at the journal and that of the indexer.
