Topics include the English pharmacologist Sir Henry Hallett Dale who studied acetylcholine and the Swiss ophthalmologist Adolphe Franceschetti whose name is associated with several syndromes. The work of German neurologist and psychiatrist Wilhelm Griesinger who died in 1868 is also discussed.
