      The article elucidates the historical experiential narratives of intimate social geographies of sexual vulnerabilities, victimization,and powerlessness for victims of rape and domestic violence in the 20th century, focusing on the experiences of black women in Houston, Texas. Topics covered include the lack of institutional and societal resources and support to curtail the abuses, and how their socioeconomic status interacted with their being at risk for intimate partner violence.
