      An editorial is presented in which author discusses Biochemistry study at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bangalore, India, to celebrate 100 anniversary of Department of Biochemistry at IISc. Topics include information on development of methods for conversion of municipal wastes into organic manures; cellular thermogenesis, oxidative modifications of enzymes by hydrogen peroxide; and studies on follicle-stimulating hormone led to development of new immunocontraceptive technology.
