      The article discusses the experiences of author Mark Twain during the cholera outbreak in Greece in mid-19th century. Also cited are how Twain violated the quarantine imposed by the Greek government while onboard the ship Quaker City and visited the Parthenon, the book he wrote during the crisis titled "The Innocent Abroad," and his contraction of the disease while in Damascus, Syria.
