      The article focuses on the important role of mathematical models in creating policies around the Covid-19 pandemic. Topics discussed include Ohio State University's mathematical modelling of the pandemic, the use of a mathematical concept called stochastic process which involves calculus, and the features of the SIR model which stands for susceptible, infectious, recovered.
