      In the article, the author discusses the effectiveness of physical therapy and meaningful human relationships in helping intensive care unit (ICU) patients recover. Topics include his experiences with patients with critical illnesses as ICU staff at University of Kentucky, how he and teammates helped ICU patients survived the COVID-19 pandemic, and how patients showed vulnerability, resilience and generosity during the pandemic.
