    • Abstract:
Isaac Campos also demonstrates in "Reefer Madness Past and Present: Dr. Leopoldo Salazar Viniegra, Mexico, and the United States, ca. 1938-2018" that at least a few psychiatrists did not even believe cannabis use was negative. In his chapter, Campos discusses the work of Leopoldo Salazar Viniegra, a Mexican psychiatrist who advocated for cannabis legalization in Mexico in the 1930s. In his chapter on cannabis in Nigeria, Gernot Klantschnig shows us that Thomas Adeoye Lambo, one of the founding figures in African psychiatry, did not believe that cannabis necessarily caused madness.
