    • Abstract:
This article reports on what caused World War II. On December 7, 1941, Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. The United States declared war on Japan the next day. U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt had viewed German and Japanese aggression against their European neighbors as a threat to U.S. security, however, it was not until after Pearl Harbor that the U.S. joined the war.
