      The article explores the controversy surrounding Francesco Rutelli, previous mayor of Rome, hiring the architect Richard Meier to replace the glass encasement of the altar Ara Pacis on the Piazzo Augusto Imperatore. It is reported that in April, 2006, Meier's structure was revealed, and a description and review of the Ara Pacis' new housing is presented.
