    • Abstract:
Presents literary criticism which focuses on the innovative use of scenery and stage landscape in the plays of Samuel Beckett, particularly that of the minimalist work "Waiting for Godot." Various literary themes and goals of the significant and intentional lack of setting are explored in detail. Additional devices used by Beckett to expand the concept of landscape and setting beyond the constructed stage are also discussed.
