The article reports on the suspension for safety violations of research on dangerous microorganisms at Texas A&M University by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) after the school failed an inspection. A team from the CDC, which regulates research on microbes and toxins that could be used in biological attacks or bioterrorism, found vials of microbes missing, researchers working with regulated bacterium without permission, and improper wearing and decontaminating of laboratory clothing and face masks.
