    • Abstract:
The article discusses Banned Books Week in October 2008, the 400 challenges filed at U.S. libraries and schools in 2007 to ban books, and the director of Wasilla, Alaska's public library, Mary Ellen Emmons. U.S. vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin presented Emmons with three requests about censoring books. Emmons replied that she would resist book censorship.
