      The article discusses the stance of U.S. President Barack Obama towards gay rights. Although Obama was a strong supporter of gay and lesbian rights during the 2008 Presidential campaign, some of his supporters have been annoyed by his failure to rescind an existing policy related to gays serving in the U.S. military, as well as by a brief his Justice Department wrote defending the Defense of Marriage Act.
