      Proclaimed gender equality and legal regulation in the area of labour market have yet to yield satisfactory results for unemployed women. During job interviews, women are subjected to some forms of discrimination that should have been put behind us, both according to the legal system in force and according to the social practice of the EU. However, it seems that this is not the case, at least according to the results of the 2007 research on the sample of unemployed women in Croatia. These results show that the practice of gender discrimination of women during hiring and later employment persists, thus hindering many unemployed women the possibility of a truly equal access to employment, and without resolving their already threatened existential conditions. The paper presents some of the research results that show certain elements of gender discrimination at the labour market in Croatia, analysing some important issues of gender equality and equal employment opportunities of unemployed women in Croatia.       Osnovni cilj rada jest analiza rodnih jednakosti i šansi prilikom zapošljavanja u suvremenom hrvatskom društvu, posebice u kontekstu rezultata empirijskog istraživanja »Identifikacija standarda diskriminacije žena pri zapošljavanju« koje je provedeno 2007. godine na reprezentativnom uzorku nezaposlenih žena (N = 1 017). U radu se polazi od opće hipoteze o postojanju rodne nejednakosti u Hrvatskoj koja se posebice odnosi na tržište rada. Proklamirana rodna jednakost i pravna regulativa u području tržišta rada još uvijek nije donijela zadovoljavajuće rezultate za nezaposlene žene. Žene su prilikom razgovora za posao izvrgnute nekim oblicima diskriminacija koji bi i prema važećem pravnom sustavu i prema društvenoj praksi EU-a trebali biti prevladani. Međutim, čini se da, barem prema rezultatima istraživanja iz 2007. godine na uzorku nezaposlenih žena Hrvatske, to nisu, nego da praksa rodne diskriminacije žena prilikom zapošljavanja i dalje ustrajava otežavajući mnogim nezaposlenim ženama mogućnosti doista ravnopravnog pristupa zaposlenju, ne riešavajući njihove ionako već ugrožene egzistencijalne uvjete. U radu se iznose neki od rezultata istraživanja koji pokazuju određene elemente rodne diskriminacije na tržištu rada u RH, problematizirajući neka važna pitanja rodne jednakosti i jednakih šansa zapošljavanja nezaposlenih žena u Hrvatskoj.
