    • Abstract:
The article summarizes the results of an analysis made by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on racial and ethnic disparities among children with diagnoses of perinatal HIV infection from 34 states for the period 2004 to 2007. The highest levels were among children who were black. Continued measures are required to eradicate perinatal transmission and racial and ethnic disparities. The disparities are linked to the racial and ethnic distribution of women diagnosed with HIV infection.
