This study also argued the similarities and the differences between Gökalp's sociological thesis about Turkish society and the most characteristic items of Atatürk's reforms like laicism. In the early ages of The Republic of Turkey, the condition of religion as the most polemical area which is generally the origin of the ideological, political and intellectual disputes in the World and Turkey also discussed in terms of Gökalp's doctrine. - Abstract: Bu makalede; erken Cumhuriyet dönemi Türk milliyetçiliğinin önde gelen temsilcilerinden Ziya Gökalp'in; din, eğitim ve kültür hakkındaki sosyolojik görüşleri üzerinde durulmaktadır.
