      The article provides information on the Canadian Library Association (CLA) Book Awards. The CLA Book of the Year for Children Award aims to encourage the writing and publishing of books for children up to twelve years of age and the main focus of the award is text. The Young Adult Caucus of the Saskatchewan Library Association established the CLA Young Adult Book Award in 1980, whose focus is on fiction, which can include verse narratives, poetry, short stories, or graphic novels.
