      The article examines how the growing popularity of self-publishing, or independent publishing, impacts school libraries and collection development methods. Information is provided on the review policies regarding self-published books from several review journals, including "Booklist," "ForeWord Reviews," and "Publisher's Weekly." Particular attention is also given to the acquisition and purchasing polices of school districts and the influence on collecting self-published works.
