      The article features quercetin, one of the subclasses of flavonoid compounds. The dietary presence of quercetin is provided in foods and in the form of quercetin glycosides. Factors that influence quercetin absorption are presented along with other quercetin-related bioavailability and pharmacokinetic research. Beneficial effects to human health are discussed including as antioxidant, in allergy, asthma and atopic disease and in cancer. Interactions with other drugs are given with its side effects.
