    • Abstract:
The article reports on the proposed new film incentive law to be implemented in Michigan. The law stipulates the reimbursement to filmmakers of up to 42 percent of production expenses accrued in the state as well as the exemption of television commercial work from the incentives. Critics claimed that the state might pay out at least $120 million in 2009 in approved reimbursements. The Michigan Chamber of Commerce, on the other hand, prefers a cap or sunset clause instead of film incentives.
