She mentions that because of the dire economic climate, charitable cash contributions are squeezed while other companies admit that they must adjust their giving strategies and focus more on volunteerism. She adds that some nonprofit organizations and firms use skilled volunteerism to complement existing philanthropy as a replacement for cash contributions.
