    • Abstract:
The article reports on the move of the U.S. military to assess the compatibility of its aircraft avionics with NextGen air traffic management system. It stresses that defense officials must work hard in order to formulate the possible requirements for NextGen-compatible avionics. According to Bill Hershey, engineer at the MITRE Corp., the military has developed a NextGen office in the Pentagon but needs to catch up with civil developments at the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
