      The article discusses the impact of popular culture and aesthetic typical for the 1980s on contemporary design as of June 2014, focusing on website, software, and electronic game graphics. It is suggested that many designers, particularly those who grew up in the 1980s, re-introduce the past aesthetic in their work, while big technological corporations use nostalgia to upgrade their image. Combining 80s style with later technological innovations and the impact of television are explored.
