    • Abstract:
An interview is presented with authors Neil Gaiman and Kazuo Ishiguro on their work and the nature of literary genres in the context of the popular and critical reaction to Ishiguro's novel "The Buried Giant." Topics include the distinction between literary fiction and genre fiction such as fantasy fiction or science fiction, cultural differences in how fight scenes are described, and stories which survive over long periods of time in changed forms such as Cinderella.
