    • Abstract:
      The article examines how the U.S. film industry is driving political conversations about racism and the justice system and representation of people of color and motivating people to speak about core American values. It shows the evolution of the industry as demonstrated by the 2018 Oscar nominations. It considers the potential role of Hollywood as a worldwide economic force and catalyst of change to American thinking as well as diversity across races, orientations, beliefs and politics.
