Also cited are Bailey's accomplishments like winning the 100-meter (m) race at the 1996 Olympic Games, the rejection by officials of the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) and Athletics Canada of Bailey's claims, and Bailey's campaign against racism following the death of African American George Floyd in the hands of Minneapolis police officers in May 2020.
