    • Abstract:
(Bloomberg) -- An index measuring South African factory sentiment plunged to a year low because of nationwide power cuts and slowing global economic growth affecting its major trading partners. The purchasing price subindex dropped to the lowest level since November, signaling slower cost increases. Absa Group Ltd."s purchasing managers" index, compiled by the Bureau for Economic Research, fell to 47.6 from 52.2 in June, the Johannesburg-based lender said Monday in an emailed statement.
