    • Abstract:
The article reports on "The Boondocks," a television series based on the controversial comic strip. Its protagonists are two African-American brothers who move from the South Side of Chicago to the suburbs and lampoon current politics and African-American figures. Martin Luther King, Jr., Oprah, Rosa Parks, R. Kelly and President George W. Bush have all been parodied. Creator Aaron McGruder hopes the show will be regarded as akin to "The Simpsons."
