The article focuses on the implications of China's openness to trade for its economy. The country's trade openness has benefited its economy since 1978. One of the factors that contribute to the country's low income despite its globalization are its lack of social networks and political freedom. Cooperation between the country and the U.S. is needed to solve its economic development imbalances.
