- Abstract:
The article presents an update on relations between the U.S. and Lebanon. The U.S. aims to support Lebanon in preserving its independence, sovereignty, national unity and territorial integrity. The U.S. government has pledged well over $1 billion in additional assistance to Lebanon for the 2006 and 2007 fiscal years. Budget support and student scholarships have also been provided by the U.S. to the American University of Beirut and the Lebanese American University.
