    • Abstract:
The article discusses the concept of identification as the basis for a situational theory of motivation. It discusses the lines drawn to differentiate between motivated and non-motivated human behavior. It examines the acts in particular situation whose recurrence constitutes personality or culture. It also distinguishes what is it that makes culture and personality in action different from culture and personality in abstraction. It suggests that in most situations identity of person is so completely habitual and taken for granted that presence or relevance of it is virtually ignored in the reactions.
