      The article reports on filmmaker Zhang Yimou as a runner up for the "Time" magazine Person of the Year award for 2008. Yimou was in charge of the opening ceremonies at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China. He started out with his first camera when he was 25 after purchasing it with money earned by donating blood. At 27 he was accepted into the Beijing Film Academy.
