      The article presents information on the Massachusetts-2 Disaster Medical Assistance Team or DMAT MA-2. It was created in the 1980s through a partnership between UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts and the National Disaster Medical System under the guidance of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS). The team responds to both manmade and natural tragedies and disasters.
